Safety

Rogers is committed to the safety of our employees, customers, and other trades with which we work. As one of our core values, it is our mission to provide and maintain a safe work environment for our extended Rogers family, no matter the size or location of the job site.

Operational Risk Management

Operational Risk Management is at the core of Rogers Safety. ORM is a simple preplanning process that will be carried out by our field employees as they perform their daily tasks. It increases the probability of a successful, accident-free task accomplishment. Through this program, risks are minimized to an acceptable level and resources are better managed on job sites. Roles and responsibilities are more clearly defined when ORM is used and it also helps to empower employees to make proper and more safe decisions.

How We Do It

The ORM process is very interactive, and crew members will gather around a whiteboard each morning to discuss and develop a work plan that will identify and control hazards through five core steps. It begins with feedback from the previous day, then identifies and focuses on the current day’s tasks. The whiteboard format is vital because it is posted and visible to the entire jobsite throughout the day. When work changes arise, these are posted throughout the day for the entire crew to see and become aware of.

Rogers Safety 8

Our safety program focuses on the importance of the Rogers Safety 8 on every job site, every single day. After implementing this program, we have seen the lowest MOD Rate and Incident Rate in company history.

Training

Though most of a construction worker’s skills can be gained on the job, safety is one skill set that is best learned before works enter the construction site.

Awareness

Before any work, no matter the role or experience level, you have to know the possible hazards.

Communications

Direct discussion of the day’s goals and activities will help reduce surprises that could cause bodily harm and stop work.
